Selection of Suitable Wooden Crate Types
  • Regular Closed Wooden Crate: Suitable for general engineering machinery equipment. It is composed of sides, ends, bottom, and cover, with a simple structure.
  • Slipwood Packaging Wooden Crate: Suitable for medium-sized engineering machinery equipment, with an inner load weight limit of 200-1500 kg. It has good load-bearing capacity and stability.
  • Dismountable Wooden Crate: Suitable for large or heavy engineering machinery equipment, facilitating loading, unloading, and transportation.
  • 1. Wooden Crate Manufacturing
    • Material Selection: The main load-bearing components should be made from tree species with good mechanical properties, such as larch, pine, fir, spruce, and elm. The moisture content should not exceed 25%. The moisture content of the wood used for crate panels and crosspieces should not exceed 20%.
    • Crate Structural Design: Design a rational wooden crate structure based on the weight, dimensions, and transportation requirements of the equipment to ensure the strength and stability of the crate.
    • Manufacturing Process: The joints of the panels should be tight, and the panel assembly should be flat without misalignment. The nails should be distributed reasonably. There should be no fewer than two reinforcement straps.
    2. Equipment Packing
    • Equipment Inspection: Before packing, inspect the equipment to ensure it meets quality requirements. Take measures to prevent rust and moisture.
    • Securing the Equipment: Place the equipment inside the wooden crate and secure it firmly with wooden strips or other fastening devices to prevent movement or shifting during transportation.
    • Filling and Protection: Fill the space between the equipment and the crate with appropriate cushioning materials, such as foam or wood shavings, to reduce vibration and impact during transportation.
    3. Wooden Crate Reinforcement
    • Steel Strap Reinforcement: Use steel straps to tie around the crate’s crosspieces to ensure overall stability.
    • Edge Reinforcement: Use edge protectors to reinforce the joints between side and bottom crosspieces, as well as between side and top crosspieces.
    4. Wooden Crate Marking
    • Marking Content: Indicate the equipment name, model, weight, dimensions, etc., on the crate. Attach warning signs such as “Moisture-Proof” and “Fragile.”
    • Fumigation Marking: If the crate requires fumigation treatment, it must be stamped with the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) certification code.
    5. Wooden Crate Inspection
    • Visual Inspection: Check the appearance of the crate to ensure it is structurally sound, without damage, cracks, or other defects.
    • Performance Testing: Conduct relevant performance tests on the crate based on the actual circulation environment of the contents, such as compression and impact resistance tests.
    6. Fumigation Treatment (if required)
    If fumigation treatment is required, it must be carried out before shipment, and an official fumigation certificate must be provided.
    7. Packing Completion
    After packing is complete, seal the crate with a seal or lock, and indicate the seal number and packing personnel information.
